Care & Maintenance watches

What special care should be given to the Seiko watches?

shocks:

Avoid strong shocks such as falling on hard surfaces for watches is a sensitive instrument.

Do not let the watches were in the water when the crown is pulled out.

Do not twist or pull out the crown when the watch is wet.

Avoid placing the watch under running water from the tap though waterproof though. The water pressure from the tap can cause the entry of water into watches.

Water resistant watches are not permanent. This is due to deterioration of the mechanical seals (gaskets) or deformation of components due to shocks. We recommend regular inspection of water resistance.

To maintain water resistance as long as possible, wash fluid, sweat, or dust with a soft dry cloth after the release of the wrist.
Water resistance:

Swimming in the sea:
- After wearing waterproof watches in sea water, rinse with fresh water and dry with a soft cloth.
- Do not rinse the watch watertight when the crown is pulled out.
- Avoid direct rinsing under running water. Rinse in the sink or container.
Bath or sauna:
- Do not wear a watch when the bath or sauna. Steam, soap, or anything else of a hot water bath can accelerate the deterioration of water resistance performance.
Extreme temperatures:
- Function watches influenced extreme temperatures and extreme temperature changes.
- Due to different operating temperatures for each caliber, please refer to your watch caliber instruction.
Chemicals:
- Do not use solvents or chemicals (eg gasoline, paint thinner, bleach) to clean the watches. Chemical reactions can result in deterioration or discoloration of the watch case, band, or strap.
Crown:

- Turn the crown from time to time to prevent corrosion and maintain flexibility of mechanical seals (gaskets).
- To crown that screwed, remove the screws carefully to prevent the entry of fluid into the mechanism of movement.
cleaning:
Clear fluid, sweat or dirt with a soft cloth after the release of the wrist to increase the durability of the back cover, mechanical seals (gaskets), and bracelets.
